At the Boise Men's Group we discuss topics such as: self development, managing anger, goal setting, conquering fear, dealing with rejection, controlling our emotions, increasing confidence, becoming a better husband and father, and many other topics men experience.
At the Boise Men’s Group, we strive to get out and participate in physical activities to lower stress and anxiety, create a sense of connection, and strengthen our bonds. We look to prioritize our physical, mental, and spiritual health. In Boise, many outdoor hobbies are activated that can be utilized year-round. One of the ways this can be achieved is through the proposed social men's activities such as:
✓camping ✓hiking ✓community volunteering ✓entertainment venues ✓river rafting ✓road trips ✓cigar night ✓axe throwing ✓paintball ✓game night ✓weekend dinners
We are always open to new suggestions to help our outdoor group activities. I encourage the group members to provide options for all of us to enjoy.

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my website. My name is Elliot Shakeridge. I am a local resident here in Boise. I am originally from Brooklyn, NY. I have also lived in a few different locations throughout my life including Israel, Rockland County NY, New Mexico, Buffalo, Miami and Los Angeles. I am a husband and a father. I am currently 48 years old. I was raised in an Orthodox Jewish family in Brooklyn. My hobbies include weight lifting, martial arts, playing guitar, mentoring, helping people, spending time with my family, volunteer work, strengthening my trust and belief in God, and the contestant pursuit of self-development.
I am passionate about becoming the best possible version of myself. I am always on the lookout for new tools to assist me regarding how I deal with life’s challenges. For work, I have been in the Industrial Construction Management industry for over 20 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Buffalo New York.
I truly enjoy being of assistance to my community in hopes to help them in any way I can, with whatever resources I have available. I am down to earth, easy to talk to, funny, positive, disciplined, hardworking, ethical, role with the punches type of guy. I believe in truly facing all obstacles head on. Some of the most challenging experiences we go through as men is finding our purpose here on earth. Like all men, I have had my share of ups and downs through life.
I have made plenty of mistakes as each new version of life presented itself to me. I enjoy the lessons life teaches me, even though it may have been challenging in the past. I like to look back after I successfully completed the challenge and appreciate how the dots connected for me in a positive way. A healthy perspective is an important tool to navigate through our own personal storms and to come out on top in the end.
Hello, Born and raised in the Midwest, I grew up (for better or worse) navigating typical Gen X,
80's kid experiences. After graduating college, I booked a one-way ticket to Hawaii and
landed a job working for a sailing company. Basically, I was trying to avoid the "real"
world for as long as possible.
I lived in Hawaii for many years and cultivated a strong circle of friends who became an
extended family. Those bonds along with my deep appreciation for Hawaiian culture
made it difficult when it came time for me to leave. The upside of moving back to the
mainland, landing in California, is that I met my future wife which led to us starting our
family.
Since then, we’ve moved around and I’ve worked in different industries meeting people
from so many walks of life. While making friends along the way hasn't been challenging,
I’ve found adult life makes for a difficult time in maintaining solid connections. Busy
family schedules, careers, geographic distance, all play a part, not to mention the
friendships that fizzle out because of conflicting and strongly held beliefs.
To that end, I see a huge opportunity for men to create a better world for ourselves and
our families, but also for people whom we'll never meet. It’s the butterfly effect in that
our efforts make positive impacts well beyond our line of sight. Ultimately, a man setting
aside his Ego, humbly and consistently striving for the best version of himself is an
inspiration to others.
It starts with a community and that's where the Boise Men's Group comes in. The
brainchild of my neighbor and friend, Elliot Shakeridge, this group is open to all men
who are ready to change the trajectory of their life for the better. We’d love to have you join.
